Two legal systems, one city where they meet

Kristina Klykova began in civil law — a law degree with honors at the National University “Odesa Law Academy” and a master's in international law and economics at the World Trade Institute in Bern — and moved into common law at the University of Miami School of Law, where she earned a J.D. cum laude and an LL.M. in International Arbitration as a Fulbright Scholar, working as research assistant to Professor Jan Paulsson and teaching international trade law.

At a leading global law firm she represented sovereign states and multinational companies in investor-state and commercial arbitrations under the ICSID, UNCITRAL and ICC Rules and in high-value enforcement proceedings, and advised the largest technology platforms on litigation strategy, privacy, content governance and cases before the European Court of Human Rights, coordinating local counsel across Europe, Russia and Canada.

Today she is a Shareholder in the Miami office of Lawson Huck Gonzalez. She is admitted in Florida, New York and the District of Columbia and works in English, Russian and Ukrainian.
